{"id":11716,"date":"2022-10-29T13:24:02","date_gmt":"2022-10-29T13:24:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nieuw.wpprovider.nl\/wordpress-6-1-optimizes-the-writing-process\/"},"modified":"2022-10-29T13:24:02","modified_gmt":"2022-10-29T13:24:02","slug":"wordpress-6-1-optimizes-the-writing-process","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nieuw.wpprovider.nl\/en\/wordpress-6-1-optimizes-the-writing-process\/","title":{"rendered":"WordPress 6.1 optimizes the writing process"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WordPress 6.1 comes out in early November and again brings some innovations, especially for the work of authors and editors.<br \/>\nWhich changes and with which options have been optimized?<br \/>\nWe took a closer look at <a href=\"https:\/\/make.wordpress.org\/core\/2022\/10\/28\/core-editor-improvement-advancing-the-writing-experience\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"external nofollow noopener\">the list<\/a>.  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vg09.met.vgwort.de\/na\/df4ff34d9fbb423eb7c5c471aa1ba33b\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<h2>Selective marking<\/h2>\n<p>  Following the introduction of multiple selection, where one can select text in multiple blocks without selecting the blocks as a whole, new improvements have been made.<br \/>\nSelective selection remains the default option, but only until one selects a block that cannot be combined, such as an image block.<br \/>\nThen the selected blocks are selected as a whole.    <\/p>\n<h2>Document settings<\/h2>\n<p>  Regardless of whether one is editing a post or a page, the display of options in the document settings has been optimized.<br \/>\nIn particular, the fields for post format, permalink, template and authors are aligned and the same width.<br \/>\nThe template shows &#8220;default template&#8221; instead of &#8220;none,&#8221; and the link to the permalink opens a popover to edit the permalink when clicked.<br \/>\nThe result is a clearer, more concise display.     <\/p>\n<h2>Parent-child blocks<\/h2>\n<p>  The citation block can now contain child elements.<br \/>\nFor example, it is possible to also insert a list into a citation.<br \/>\nLists, in turn, will in the future consist of the parent element &#8220;list&#8221; and the child elements &#8220;list element&#8221;.<br \/>\nIn this way, individual list elements can be formatted differently.     <\/p>\n<h2>Key combination<\/h2>\n<p>  The key combination <kbd>[[[[<\/kbd><br \/>\nfor quick insertion of links can be used with WordPress 6.1 in all text-based blocks.<br \/>\nInstructions on how this works can be found in our article 5 WordPress tricks for authors.   <\/p>\n<h2>Convert Blocks<\/h2>\n<p>  The display of possible blocks into which a block can be converted has been reorganized and is now clearer, with content blocks preferred over design blocks.  <\/p>\n<h2>List view<\/h2>\n<p>  The list view, can also be displayed permanently with WordPress 6.1.<br \/>\nUntil now, you had to activate it every time.<br \/>\nWith WordPress 6.1, you can set the display permanently in the preferences.    <\/p>\n<h2>Gutenberg plugin<\/h2>\n<p>  If you want to take advantage of even more optimizations, you should install the Gutenberg plugin.<br \/>\nThe latest updates have brought several improvements:   <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hotkeys for better navigation (Gutenberg 14.3):\n<ul>\n<li>Alt+Arrow Up (=) Cursor jumps to the beginning of the paragraph; if you are already at the beginning, the cursor jumps to the beginning of the previous paragraph;<\/li>\n<li>Alt+Down Arrow (=) The cursor jumps to the end of a paragraph;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Distraction-free mode (Gutenberg 14.4) &#8211; In distraction-free mode, the following elements are hidden:\n<ul>\n<li>Top toolbar (until the mouse moves over this area)<\/li>\n<li>Open sidebars (left and right)<\/li>\n<li>Toolbar of the individual blocks<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Add block&#8221; icon in the editor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The block inserter is hidden during writing (Gutenberg 14.4)<\/li>\n<li>In the toolbar of an image, there is an additional button to go directly to the caption.<br \/>\n(Gutenberg 14.4) <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WordPress 6.1 comes out in early November and again brings some innovations, especially for the work of authors and editors.
